“ "Hole in the wall?" Check. Reasonable prices? Check. Great service? Check. Incredible food? Check! THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!...you just have to find it first! As noted by many others, this is immediately adjacent to Jamba Juice. Check out my pictures for a view of the building. My much better half and I came down to Lahaina in search of some good food. We happened across the shark pit social on yelp. We had been to the original food truck several times and had always been impressed. The restaurant beat our expectations and is, in our opinion, arguably the best food on the island! Our server, Rylen, was great. When we asked what we should start with, she didn't even hesitate and suggested the Brussel sprouts($10)......which is not exactly my style....but I figured we'd give it a try. They've made a believer out of me. These are sooooooo good! These bad boys are deep fried and also have Bacon, cheese, and topped with some amazing kalbi sauce. As a guy who doesn't like Brussel sprouts, these blew me away! For our entrees, I went with the fish tacos (varies, it was $15 tonight). My wife went with the surf and turf tacos (varies, it was $15 tonight). Both come with a choice of potatoes or rice. I sent with the taters while my wife went with the rice. Potatoes were good, but we're quite as good as everything else tonight. The rice was awesome (think fried rice) with some meat in it. A delicious surprise! Both were good, but my wife and I both would get the rice next time! Back to the tacos - The fish was excellent. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of sauce on top. The surf and turf tacos were supposedly steak and shrimp - but I don't believe it. I'm pretty sure these are shrimp and unicorn - magical! Even more amazing was the fact that the star of the show might be the tortillas. I know my tortillas and these are LEGIT! While there's a lot of options of places to eat in Lahaina, you won't be disappointed with the shark pit. It's local, it's fresh, and this place is awesome!! ”
“ This isn't a food truck location. You have Shark Pit and Ronin 2 sushi in the same restaurant, both are excellent. Giant sushi rolls and amazing fish tacos in the same room is never a bad thing. Highly recommended. Its BYOB. ”
“ Now a storefront location next to Jamba Juice. It's all amazing. If you do nothing else on Maui, eat these brussels sprouts. Unforgettably delicious. Taco trio, chicken and wake bits, corn were all extraordinary too, and all reasonably priced with friendly, casual service. ”
“ This is a nice hidden place for food. They are known for their tacos. Shrimp, fish, surf and turf and even beef tacos are all good. The place looks scary form the outside but you should try it out at least once if you are vacationing there. Lunch is inexpensive and well worth the investment. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Sometimes they are shorthanded. Typically we try to get to the place right when they open. ”
“ A friend recommended us to eat at Shark Pit's food truck a few years ago. The food is AWESOME! It was love at 1st bite. The food truck moved around so they were hard to locate sometimes, but we were always determined to find them We were stoked to find out they've opened a restaurant. I would give them 5 stars, hands down, for food & customer service. The only reason why I've rated 4 stars is because there was a big dog in the restaurant, right next to the kitchen during our meal this week and I thought that was a bit unsanitary. ”
“ You MUST visit the Shark Pit in Lahaina. The BEST seafood tacos my husband and I have ever had. Possibly the best tacos we've ever had, period. Flavors on point, with sauces perfectly complementing the protein. Order the side of corn ... Seriously, just do it. Very fresh produce; these guys are the real deal. Good service, too. Friendly dudes. Be sure to check out the lemonade next to the truck, as well. Located in the gravel lot across from the church. Do not skip this place! :-) Prices reasonable, too. ”
“ Food and service were both great. They don't have a liquor license, but they do allow you to BYOB so just grab a beer from the Foodland across the parking lot and you're good to go. The fish tacos were delicious, but the brussel sprouts were off the chain. The sprouts have a nice crisp golden brown char on them, and they are tossed in bacon, caesar salad dressing, and Kalbi sauce and then topped with shaved parmesan. Best brussel sprouts I have ever had. I knocked off one star for the ambience. It smells a little "off" inside, like stale cigarette smoke. ”
